Classics for All North combines all the Northern Regional Networks based in Liverpool, Manchester, & Leeds, Blackpool and NE (see below). We are part of the national charity Classics for All, and we encourage the teaching of Classical subjects in state schools, to expand opportunities for pupils and raise aspirations. We believe that every child deserves to benefit from the learning, enjoyment and inspiration that Classics offers.
Classical subjects (Latin, Greek, Ancient History and Classical Civilisation) are accessible to every student, are suitable for primary and secondary schools and are interdisciplinary. They help with our understanding of the world, improve our knowledge of English, provide a great basis for learning other languages, and enrich our lives.
We provide FREE advice, support and training to primary and secondary schools, to strengthen existing classics or introduce it to new schools. We can enhance training of existing teachers and train non specialist teachers. We also welcome support from established Classics departments and retired teachers.
