How to enter

Step 1: Register

Sign up using this form by 18 September 2026. It should take just a few minutes to complete.


(Optional) Ideal for new schools, new-to-Ovid-for-All-teachers, or schools wishing to try new myths, we will be holding an Online Mythology Workshop on Wednesday 1 July from 4-5pm. Please register your attendance here.

Step 2: Teach

Autumn term 2026 – teach one or more of Ovid’s tales of transformation to years 7 or 8.

You can choose any of the myths from the CSCP's Tales of Change website.


We have resources available for the following seven stories if you would like support or are not sure where to start. You can find them on our Resources and Training page..

a) Midas 1

b) Midas 2

c) Daedalus and Icarus

d) Echo and Narcissus

e) Theseus and the Minotaur

f) Baucis and Philemon

g) Actaeon

Step 3: Create

Individually or in groups of up to 4, pupils create their artistic responses

to any of the stories. Responses can be in the form of creative writing, performance, or artefact.

Our guidance document contains information about categories, permissions and our use of images.

Step 4: Enter

Schools submit up to 10 selected entries to Classics for All by 6pm.

18th December 2026 to the relevant email address, depending on your location:

North West: northwest@classicsforall.org.uk

North East: northeast@classicsforall.org.uk

Yorkshire and Humberside: yorkshireandhumberside@classicsforall.org.uk

Prizegiving

We will judge the submitted entries and there will be an online prize giving ceremony on a date to be announced in January 2027. 


**NEW FOR 2026-2027 ENTRY** Each region (North West, North East, Yorkshire and Humberside) will select an overall winning school (£100 worth of books) and first prize winners in each of the categories will also receive prizes. Runners-up and Highly Commended entries will receive an Ovid for All pin badge, and all short-listed entries (10 from each school) will receive a certificate.

All entries that are submitted to us will also receive a certificate.
